Phil Sheppard

Phil Sheppard is a technology and people leader with a wealth of experience of end to end telecoms, which he brings to his consulting role at Clear Technology.

Phil is experienced in developing strategy and architecture to provide industry leading levels of customer experience, performance and economics. He has led vendor selection and contracting for multiple significant technology deals (including virtualised core network and 4G/5G RAN).

Phil is a positive people leader, coach and an effective communicator with the ability to translate complex technology into clear messages. He has spoken at many conferences and events and was recognised in the Mobile Power 50 (2019) for being a significant industry influencer.

He has worked frequently with Government and Regulatory authorities (including Ofcom), helped Three to acquire 4G & 5G spectrum and was an alternate board director to DMSL for 6 years.

Phil was with Three for 19 years since they started building the UK's first and largest 3G mobile network in 2000 and has led end to end strategy, architecture and design (devices, radio, core network and IT) spanning 3G, 4G and 5G technologies. Prior to this he worked at BT Labs for 14 years on a wide range of R&D projects such as digital transmission and IP multimedia.
